ignorance is bliss

there are some things that u wish u never knew
because knowlegde is power
but power corrupts
so having knowlegde corrupts ur views on things
so that means studying more isnt good for u
it corrupts u more
empowers u to find the truth
the more i think about it
the more i feel the liabilites of being a singaporean outwiegh the benefits
what does it mean to be a singaporean?
what is loyalty?
in this materialistic world
money talks
money makes the world go round
of cos money cant solve everything but it makes ur life easier
at least materially
the same cant be said spiritually, emotionally
sg revovles around the economy
economic growth
upgrading retraing
rising costs , inflation wages not keeping up
yet pay rises for civil service and ministers
what is the justification?????
to prevent corruption?
on a personal note
today went to suntec to meet victor and later alvin, hadlunch at pepper lunch
then went to take a peek at hebe from SHE
promoting dental stuff
haha the power of celebrities
their endorsing help to boost sales of products
and now feeling so like ................. non chalant
its like being numb..........
like i dont want to care bout whats going to happen to sg...
but i know it will affect me and those still living in sg
the relentless rise in cost of living
competition from foreigners
globalisation has really brought along a lot of problems..........................

less than a month to go before leaving sg for studiess.....
so many things unknown
apprehension and uncertainty
weekend was good finally met up with friends for meals
watched the movie get smart on sat
hilarious and lame
good for laughs
challenges the stereotypes of intelligence agencies
talking with friends over lunch and dinner and a constant theme came out
competition from foreigners be it in the workforce or at unis
especially those from PRC
really posing a problem to locals
seems like in the past few years massive influx of foreigners into sg
it beomes a problem when they compete with locals for jobs and education
when they finish their bond here they can go back to their home country
what bout locals ? stuck here ?
nagging problem with my tongue
eating can be a problem
cos there seems to be something pricking my tongue at the side
i seriously hope there isnt a cut in my tongue........zzzzzzzzz
back to work again this week sigh
next week will be my last week at work.... and i plan on cutting the number of shifts worked

bah now this feeling of emptyness is sinking in
always feeling moody
get pissed off so easily
just got an acer laptop earlier today
i hope its good and it wont cause major problems
cause i intend it to last me for the next few years
songs i like at the moment
leona lewis-keep bleeing love
rihanna-take a bow
paramore-emergency
xtm-fly on the wings of love
dcx-flying high
updated psp firmware to 3.71 m33 a few days ago
now playing wipeout pulse
and some dj max portable once again
i been reading online forums/blogs rants bout sg education system
one thing i agree with is that sg is very unforgiving towards failure
streaming from p4 onwards ya da ya da psle, express, normal a, normal tech, ite
its like dont do well in exams and the whole world u know come crashing on ur heads
teachers, parents, societal pressure
what is the point of education?
to get a decent job that pays u decently that enables u to live a decent standard of living
problem is the decent job u want nowadays minimum requires a degree
and the barriers to entry to jobs is harder due to foreign competition
foreigners who can accept lower pay and work longer hours
why? cos when they return to their home countries they can live quite comfortably
for locals the ever increasing cost of living coupled with inflation means its getting harder just to get by
its worse for low wage earners seriously... in my opinion , foreign workers are depressing the wages in sg, couple with lack of minimum wage and trade unions who are controlled by the govt
the situation doesnt look good
how often have u heard retraining, upgrading ur skills, innovation?
sounds familar
hm a certain govt is propagating this views
bah just wanted to get this out of my system
so many things bugging me now
uncertainty of whether i can adapt to life in aussie
will i be able to fit in
i must one way or another
anime wise
hm still keeping with code geass r2
vampire knight
other than that not following any other series
btw code geass shows just how dirty politics can be
it applies to real life to
to be a politican
u need to be ruthless and unforgiving

good stuff, bad stuff, ugly stuff
Sunday, June 08, 2008
good stuff:
god of war for the psp is a blast to play
only gripe is i heard its quite short less than 6 hours to finish
currently bout 4.30 hours that means its gonna end soon
gongfupanda is brainless fun to watch
and as usual has a hidden meaning
want to feel special?
believe in yourself
beleve that you can be special
manhattan fish and chips rocks
bad stuff:
my throat still has phelegm
even though i stopped eating chocolates for the past week already
work sianess has sunk in already...
getting tired of this aleady
its no wonder the employee turnover rate for f and b industry is so high
look around restaurants/cafes are always hiring
still its fun joking around with the other part-timers
and hearing the fulltimers talk bout love stuff/gossip
ugly stuff:
everywhere cost is increasing, fuel prices just dont seem to stop rising
dd seriously outstrips supply it appears
oil cartels like opec enjoying their oligopolistic power over consumers
blogs arent free like they supposed to be
it appears the only free place is on pen and paper
written in the privacy of your home
its called the good old fashioned diary
thats where u can express ur innermost thoughts without
fear of persuecution/defamation
blogs? limited avenue of expression but nevertheless
can rant here just have to bear the consequences
